Right Steps Fall 2009 Winner

Trina Wallace, an employee at Life Care Assisted Living, is the fall winner for the Right Steps activity challenge. During the Right Steps Contest Wallace walked more than 1,019,887 steps, the equivalent of 509 miles in just two months!

Wallace says she is on her feet all day and when she saw an article in the paper about the Right Steps community walking challenge she decided to give it a try and went out and bought a pedometer. Wallace walks an average of 15,000 steps a day.

Wallace says working at Life Care Assisted Living made her realize how important it is to remain active throughout your life. “Working here I see how people lose their muscle strength and bone density, I don’t want to be like that. I want to build strength and tone my muscles. I don’t want to end up with Osteoporosis.” said Wallace.

Since starting the Right Steps challenge in October Wallace has seen a significant change. She says she feels so much better, has a lot more energy, and even sleeps better. Wallace says the biggest change is in her appearance, she has lost 20 pounds.

The 2009 grand prize winner will be announced the fist week of January. Past winners have won a walking trip to Europe, and a trip to Disney World.
